GROWING REGIONS
The majority of the world’s vanilla is produced in Madagascar and neighboring islands in the southwestern Indian Ocean and Indonesia. In fact, two-thirds of the current supply used in the world is produced in Madagascar and Indonesia. Vanilla tahitensis is found in French Polynesia.
Each year approximately 2000 – 3000 tons of vanilla are used commercially by the cosmetic, flavoring, and food industries.
